Gordon County Docket Starting Point
Start with a phone call. Calhoun's own court pages disagree about where and when court happens. Dial 706-602-5790 before you go. The smaller cities are easier to pin down. Resaca holds court at Town Hall on the last Monday at 3 p.m., and Fairmount posts 2026 dates at 1 p.m., keeping officer citations separate from speed-camera violations. Plainville and Ranger take more work: read the citation for the issuing agency and court, then reach the city or the person named on the ticket.
One caution about payment sites. A balance shown there says nothing about motions, orders, hearing changes, or the certified disposition in the court docket. If a vendor shows no match, wait out the stated posting period, double-check the citation number, and call the court that issued it.
How to Search the Gordon County Court Docket
Pull out the paper that started the case. A citation, summons, complaint, indictment, or order names the court, and that detail guides your Gordon County docket search. For Superior Court, docket information runs through PeachCourt, though the public lands at a login screen first. Registration costs nothing. Document images may carry fees, and the provider excludes sealed, adoption, and proposed-order material.
The Georgia Courts E-Access directory sends Gordon Superior users to that same PeachCourt entry. It does not reach every case in Georgia. The county posts PDFs, and they list selected settings rather than a full case register. The lower courts keep their own files entirely.
- Identify the court and keep the exact case or citation number.
- Use PeachCourt for an available Superior docket after login.
- Choose the matching county calendar PDF for a scheduled event.
- Match the caption, filing date, court, and status before buying an image.
- Request an official or certified copy from the clerk that holds the file.
No case number? Give the right clerk the party name, the rough filing period, the case type, and any past hearing date. Ask which index the office can check and whether the case predates the online collection. Names repeat. A name-only query often returns several look-alike captions, so compare venue and filing date before trusting a result. For a municipal or Probate citation, start with the issuing court printed on the ticket. A failed city search never belongs in PeachCourt. That tool fits only when the papers show a Superior case or an appeal.
Gordon Online Channels Have Limits
Every Gordon County docket channel answers a different question. PeachCourt offers Superior case docket information and paid document images behind a login. The Court/Trial Information page posts PDF calendars that change often. eFileGeorgia takes Magistrate filings. It does not serve as an all-case public search. City payment vendors match certain citations only, not a full municipal docket.
| Channel | Purpose | Key limit |
|---|---|---|
| PeachCourt | Superior docket and documents | Account gate; image fees may apply |
| Court/Trial page | Selected Superior settings | Preliminary PDFs, not full register |
| eFileGeorgia | Magistrate filing | Public search not confirmed |
| City vendors | Citation payment or status | Not full case files |
The official Online Services and Payments page illustrates this divided system.

Its separate links are routing tools, not one merged Gordon County court docket database.
What a Court Docket Shows
Think of a court docket as a dated log. It records everything filed or scheduled in a case. Gordon criminal samples carry a header, case number, and style. They also list filing date, sequence, count, charge, judge, courtroom, and setting. Civil dockets go further, adding service, answers, motions, orders, judgments, and post-judgment activity. A calendar is the narrower tool: it groups settings by date, judge, room, or event.
| Case number | The assigned identifier; local criminal examples include 23CR34457. |
|---|---|
| Caption | The case title and party roles. |
| Entries | Filed pleadings, notices, motions, and orders in date order. |
| Setting | Date, time, judge, courtroom, and hearing type. |
| Disposition | The plea, judgment, dismissal, or other result shown by the record. |
| Document link | An image behind a docket line, which may require payment. |
A docket entry and the filed document are two different records. Before relying on a short status line, read the order itself.
Gordon Case Codes in Plain Terms
Gordon County calendars lean on local shorthand rather than one statewide code book. Criminal samples show a year, CR, and digits, though the live provider sets the accepted format. Judge initials and rooms A through D appear throughout the annual calendar too.
- GJ
- Grand jury, which may consider charging matters.
- FTA
- Failure to appear, often tied to a prior setting.
- Calendar call
- A trial-status or next-step setting, not automatically the trial.
- Arraignment
- A setting where charges are answered under court procedure.
- Disposition
- The result or status reflected in the official case record.
Four sets of initials mark Gordon's Superior judges: SHS, RMG, SJP, and DSS. The grid may also say Gordon or Bartow, since the Cherokee Judicial Circuit covers both counties.
Which Courts Keep Dockets
No single clerk holds every Gordon County court docket. Grant Walraven, the elected Clerk of Superior Court, keeps Superior felony, civil, domestic-relations, and related filings. Magistrate, Probate, Juvenile, and each municipal court answer to their own custodians, and Gordon has no separate State Court.
| Court | Docket covers | Where to search |
|---|---|---|
| Superior Court | Felonies, major civil, domestic relations | PeachCourt, posted calendars, Superior Clerk |
| Magistrate Court | Warrants, first appearances, claims up to $15,000 | Magistrate clerk; eFileGeorgia for filing |
| Probate Court | Estates, guardianships, county misdemeanor traffic | Probate clerk and named payment route |
| Juvenile Court | Delinquency, dependency, CHINS, juvenile traffic | Restricted access through Juvenile Court |
| Municipal courts | City traffic, parking, ordinances | Each city court or vendor |
The official Superior Court page provides the general-jurisdiction context.

That court is central, but it does not absorb the separate lower-court dockets.
Gordon Magistrate Is Separate
Magistrate Court covers civil claims of $15,000 or less, plus dispossessory and distress warrants, abandoned vehicles, foreclosures, garnishments, warrants, probable-cause proceedings, first appearances, and limited ordinance or misdemeanor matters. Issuing warrants is not the same as trying felonies. Felony guilt is decided in Superior Court. The Gordon Magistrate Court page also points filers to eFileGeorgia.

That service handles filings only. For the Magistrate docket itself, contact the Magistrate clerk, since the court posts no public search.
Finding Court Dates and Settings
The Gordon County Court/Trial page links a wide set of calendars. Options include criminal non-jury, arraignment, jury, civil non-jury, civil pre-trial jury, civil jury, grand-jury, indictment, no-bill, presentment, and term. The 2026 grid adds more. It lists judge initials, rooms A through D, CIVIL, CRIMINAL, GJ, jury blocks, calls, deadlines, Drug Court, and Mental Health Court.
Trust the time printed in a specific PDF. Do not rely on a general assumption. Check whether the entry says Gordon or Bartow. Then look at update markings and verify the date against the docket. The Gordon County court calendar walks through the full date-check process. The county publishes no routine Zoom policy. There is no emergency closure line.
Gordon Calendar Is Preliminary
A published setting helps. But Gordon County calls its online calendar preliminary, open to changes, errors, and omissions. A calendar call is not automatically a trial. A jury listing does not promise any case will be tried. A civil pre-trial event differs from a civil jury setting too.
Open the newest linked file rather than a saved download. Some 2026 jury calendars carry updated markings. The Court/Trial page keeps revising its links. When a case is missing, search the docket and call the clerk responsible. Absence can mean several things. It might be a different PDF category, a changed setting, or a lower court. Restricted access is possible too, or an online layer that is simply incomplete.
Best evidence: Use the current PDF for planning, then rely on the docket or clerk for the official Gordon County court setting.
Public Access to Dockets
Most Gordon County Superior records are open to inspection. Law or court procedure can hold some back. Public access does not mean every field or filing shows up online. Juvenile, adoption, sealed, in-camera, and protected-identifier material may be withheld or redacted. And a vendor result is only a search result. It is not a ruling on access.
Key Rules:
Uniform Superior Court Rule 21 generally opens Superior records while permitting restrictions through the rule’s court process.
Rule 21.6 in the same source protects identifiers addressed by O.C.G.A. § 9-11-7.1.
Georgia Open Records Act, O.C.G.A. § 50-18-70 et seq. generally opens agency records subject to exemptions and does not require creation of a new report.
Model Rule 36.16 treats electronically filed records like paper records while preserving sealed and in-camera limits.
Gordon Probate and Juvenile Routes
Probate Court in Gordon County handles a wide range. It covers estates, guardianships, marriage and weapons licenses, vital records, and the misdemeanor traffic docket. Its office sits at 100 South Wall Street, third floor or Suite 3. The phone is 706-629-7314. A traffic ticket can be paid several ways. Use EZ Court Pay, the phone, mail, or the counter. Just remember that a payment screen is not the full docket. The Probate Court source shows how that work is divided locally.

Juvenile Court runs on a separate track, handling delinquency, dependency, CHINS, and juvenile traffic, and its records are restricted. The Juvenile Court page documents that separate route.

The Juvenile counter is not a general public docket-search substitute.
The Clerk and Docket Records
Grant Walraven, Clerk of Superior Court, keeps the Gordon County Superior filings. The office sits at 101 South Piedmont Street, Calhoun, GA 30701. Call 706-629-9533 or fax 706-629-2139. Published hours run Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Requests have several routes. They go to the counter, by mail, by fax, or by department email. The Clerk’s official page describes its court-record duties.

One caution: this elected court clerk is not the county administrative records custodian for general county records.

Gordon Copy Fees and Requests
The Clerk’s published fee schedule lists unassisted copies at $0.50 per page and assisted copies at $1 per page, with a certification stamp at $2.50. No separate search fee, certified docket fee, transcript charge, identity rule, or turnaround appears in the schedule. Ask before you mail any payment. The Services and Fees source supplies those figures.

A strong request names the court, the case number, a party or case description, and the exact document you need. Add whether you want plain or certified copies, plus your return contact.
| Request route | Use |
|---|---|
| Counter | Inspection, assistance, and copy questions |
| Mail, fax, or email | Specific Superior document request |
| PeachCourt | Available electronic docket and paid image |
| County open-records form | County-government record route, separate from court certification |
Gordon Docket Technology Layers
Gordon County’s records system grew in layers. The Clerk remains the source for Superior records. PeachCourt now serves as the mandatory Superior e-filing provider and the account-gated public-access route. Magistrate Court left nCourt after December 31, 2020 and now directs filings to eFileGeorgia. City ticket systems run on other vendors. The official Gordon County home page provides the broader county context.

Older files may sit outside a vendor’s online reach. If PeachCourt finds no Gordon County docket, ask the clerk about archive, paper, or other holdings.
Court Dockets by City in Gordon County
Gordon County’s five incorporated places differ in municipal court information. Calhoun, Resaca, and Fairmount publish court or payment routes. Plainville’s planning record notes a municipal court. But the city posts no current docket portal. Ranger publishes no court portal or named custodian. These gaps call for verification, not a claim that no court exists.
Calhoun Court Docket
16,949 residents in the 2020 Census; traffic, parking, and city ordinances.
Resaca Court Docket
1,142 residents; last-Monday municipal schedule and separate vendor.
Fairmount Court Docket
772 residents; officer and speed-camera citations use different routes.
Plainville Court Docket
356 residents; current public court portal was not located.
Ranger Court Docket
107 residents; identify the issuing court and verify custody.
The populations come from official 2020 Census incorporated-place figures. A city payment portal can confirm a citation route, but a certified disposition comes from that city’s clerk.
Map and Directions to the Gordon County Judicial Building
Superior Court felony, civil, and domestic-relations records are kept at the Gordon County Judicial Building, 101 South Piedmont Street, in downtown Calhoun. Clerk of Superior Court Grant Walraven's office is the counter for these filings, with published hours Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Magistrate Court and Probate Court sit in a separate building, the Gordon County Courthouse at 100 South Wall Street, on the second and third floors. Juvenile Court is a third, restricted-access office on Newtown Road.
